The award-winning Old Poets Corner at the lower end of the village serves as brewery tap for the Ashover Brewery which was started in 2006. The pub is also famed for its ranges of beers and ciders and traditional food. |

The brewhouse is located in the redundant garage of the cottage next to the pub, and is accessed from the pub car park. |

The brewery was started in 2006 by landlord Kim from the pub and Roy Shorrock, pictured here. It's a 3½ barrel plant which began life at a Firkin brewpub (possibly the Firecracker and Firkin in Crawley, Sussex). Most of the beer goes to the Old Poets' Corner and its sister pub The Poet & Castle in Codnor. In the fermenters were Coffin Lane Stout, Light Rale, Butts Pale Ale and Poets Tipple. |
