at the Alexandra Arms, 72-73 James Street, Rugby, CV21 2SL

The brewhouse is located in outbuildings behind one of Rugby's top pubs and is a collaboration between the licensee, Julian Hardy who brews only for the pub, and Keith Abbis and Nick Pugh whose beers are distributed more widely, not only in and around Rugby, but also through distributors such as Roger Greenfield of Traditional English Ales. At the set-up stage Julian was responsible for the kit in the brewhouse, and Keith and Nick furnished the stock of casks.

This outbuilding behind the pub houses the brew plant, supplied by Porter Brewing of Haslingden, and can be seen from the games room. From the pictures below you'll  see that it's like the Tardis.

Keith and Nick's busiest day at their Hi-Fi shop, Sounds Expensive in the town centre is, naturally, Saturday but the barmaid obliged by opening up for us.

Keith and Nick pose for Wakefield CAMRA. They will soon have a pub of their own in Rugby, run for them, we understand, by Steve Jackman who has been landlord of the Royal Oak in Crick, visited Easter 2006 by Wakefield CAMRA's  Belgian trip on the return journey! Brewing of Atomic beers will remain at the Alexandra.

The shop also seems to be an unofficial drop-in point for real ale fans in Rugby.
