PUB DESCRIPTION : originally a malt store for Beverleys Brewery, founder David James moved his home brew shop here from Kirkgate in the late 80s and went on to develop a microbrewery in the cellar, named after the original brewery of Luis Fernandes in the Doncaster Road area of the city. The top floor which had been a repository for Dave's vast collection of breweriana was then turned into the flourishing Fernandes Brewery Tap. The enterprise was later sold on to Ossett Brewery who fulfilled the James' originally idea of turning the middle floor into a continental beer bar.

Free stew Sunday teatime, quiz Mondays with beer prize & jackpot, pie & peas Tuesdays also regular live bands.
