On a Saturday in July 2004 Wakefield CAMRA were met and shown around by the proprietor of the Bentley Brook Inn, David Allingham who gave us his own unique slant on the business.
Most members of the family were involved in some aspect of the licensed trade if not the inn and the brewery itself, where third son Bill ran the brewery with David Corby as Head Brewer. Full history was on their own web-site, including an explanation of their name. The brewery moved in 2008 to larger premises behind the Green Man & Blacks Head Royal Hotel in Ashbourne, running as a separate business from the hotel itself.
