Ossett Brewing Company THIS PAGE WAS GETTING A REVAMP BUT INSTEAD HAS BEEN RETAINED INTACT AS AN ARCHIVE
now located at Kings Yard on the BBR Graphic Engineers site behind the Brewers Pride, Low Mill Road, Healey, Ossett. Tel: (01924) 261333 The brewery has expanded locally within the Healey Mills area of Ossett . It took possession of its huge new premises the week commencing 14th June2004. Compared with other local breweries the new premises are more on the scale of Copper Dragon at Skipton. A new 25 barrel steam brew plant arrived from Sweden in the autumn of 2004. It was intended that the original plant behind the Brewers Pride would be used for special brews with bulk production going through the new Kings Yard plant behind, but with all the space in the new brewing hall it has been much more straightforward to have a dedicated small fermenter there. Postal address and contact details remain the same.

On 2nd August 2004, Ossett Brewing bought their second pub, the famous Rat & Ratchet in Huddersfield. The brewing plant from there was been sold on to the new Fantasy Brewery behind Lloyd's Bar in Nuneaton. A third tied house, the landmark Three Pigeons at Halifax was acquired in late 2004.
The first special brew from the Kings Yard brewery was available early Summer 2005 and was a 4.1% pale beer called Kings Yard Cream.

Now that the new brewery is up and running look out for a complete make-over of the company website where you will find brewery details, a list of regular brews. Ossett Brewery's own web-site
Among recent new beers were Olympic Flame and the 5% Up and Away for Summer 2004, and Spellbound 4.3% was produced for Hallowe'en 2004. A 3.7% dark mild called Millbridge Mild was brewed for Mild Month 2005. The 2005 Great British Beer Festival selected an occasional brew called Mellow Yellow at 4.5% which tastes "as the name suggests". An absolutely cracking, almost lime juice coloured 4.6% grassy-citrussy beer first available August 2005 celebrating the Cricket Test Series is simply called Corker.
Note that the proximity of the new premises means that there is little change to their address.
